Write to us

Email: hello@wattnest.co.uk

Email is the only channel we operate. We read everything and reply to most things, usually within
a few working days. We are one person publishing part-time, not a support desk, so please be patient
and put everything relevant in the first message.

What we are glad to hear about

  • Corrections. A figure that has moved, a rule we have got wrong, a broken link
to a network operator. This is the most useful message you can send us and it goes to the front of
    the queue.
  • Your own numbers. If you have installed a plug-in kit and know what it has
actually produced, or you have three battery quotes in front of you, that is real data and it makes
the site better. We will anonymise anything we use and we will ask you before we use it.
  • Questions we have not answered. If the site does not cover your situation, tell
us — that is how the article list gets written.
  • Press and research enquiries. Welcome, with a deadline stated.

What we cannot do

  • We cannot design your system or check your installation. We are not
electricians, and a page of general information is not a substitute for someone who has seen your
    property.
  • We cannot give legal, tax or financial advice, including on VAT treatment of a
particular contract or on a warranty dispute. We can point you to the body that can.
  • We cannot put you in touch with an installer. There is no quotation form on
this site and no arrangement with any installer or lead network. If that ever changes it will be
disclosed on how we make money before it appears anywhere else.
  • We cannot help with a fault on your electricity supply. For a power cut or a
network emergency in Great Britain, call 105, the free national number that routes
you to your distribution network operator.

Commercial enquiries

We do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, guest posts, link insertions or “content
partnerships”, and we do not sell mentions in comparison tables. Emails offering any of those are
deleted unread. There is no advertising on the site at present; when there is, it will be served
programmatically and will be separate from anything
editorial — see how we make money.

Privacy

When you email us we hold your message and your address for as long as we need to deal with it.
We do not add you to anything, we do not have a mailing list, and we do not pass your details to
third parties. Your rights, and how to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, are set out
in the privacy policy.
