An independent information site about plug-in solar and home battery storage in Great Britain. We
are not an installer, an electrical contractor, a retailer, a manufacturer, an energy
supplier, a distribution network operator, a certification body or a public authority. We do not carry
out installations, we do not sell hardware, and we do not arrange quotations. How the site is funded

The information on this site is general, not advice
Everything here is general information for a general audience. It is not:

Accuracy, prices and dates
We prepare content carefully, cite primary sources and show the date each page was last reviewed.

Safety
Nothing on this site authorises you to carry out electrical work. A compliant plug-in solar device
is designed for householder installation into an existing socket and requires no electrical work; any
task beyond that — new circuits, fixed wiring, consumer unit changes, battery installation — is work
for a qualified person. If in doubt, stop and get someone qualified. In a power cut or network
