Privacy policy

Last reviewed: 3 September 2026.

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can
do about it. It is written under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act
2018
, because the site is directed at readers in the United Kingdom.

1. Who is the controller

  • Controller: Gerard Ferri Ventura, an individual established in
    Spain
  • Address: Carrer La Jota 58, 5.º 2.ª, 08016 Barcelona, Spain
  • Email: hello@wattnest.co.uk
  • UK representative (Article 27 UK GDPR): none appointed. The site runs no
analytics and no advertising at present, so it does not monitor the behaviour of people in the
United Kingdom. We are taking advice on whether a representative becomes necessary before either is
switched on, and if one is appointed their name and UK contact address will be published here.

Full publisher identification is in the legal notice.

2. What we collect

a) If you email us

Your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.

  • Purpose: to read and answer you.
  • Lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — answering a message you
    chose to send.
  • Retention: for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and then for a
reasonable period as a record of correspondence. We do not add you to any list; we do not have
    one.

b) When you simply read a page

Server logs recording the request: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating
system identifiers, and referring page.

  • Purpose: to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.
  • Lawful basis: legitimate interests — operating and securing the site.
  • Retention: the period applied by our hosting provider.

c) Analytics and advertising

Neither is running at the time of writing. No analytics package and no
advertising network is loaded on this site today, so no cookie or identifier is created for either
purpose. We intend to add both. When we do, they may set cookies or similar technologies and may
process identifiers, approximate location and browsing behaviour, and this section will name the
providers before they go live. Non-essential cookies are only ever set where you consent, as required
by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations — see the
cookie policy, which lists what is actually set and lets you change your
mind at any time.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal data. To anyone. Ever.
  • We do not run a lead-generation business: there is no quotation form on this site, and we do not
pass your details to installers or lead networks.
  • We do not operate a mailing list.
  • We do not knowingly collect data about children.
  • We do not use personal data for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant
    effects.

4. Who else processes data

Our hosting provider is the only third party involved today. The analytics and advertising
providers described above are not in use yet; when they are, they will act as processors or as
independent controllers depending on the service, and each will be named here before it goes
live.

5. International transfers

The only third party involved in running the site today is the hosting provider. If analytics or
advertising providers are added, some of them may process data outside the United Kingdom; where that
happens, transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or on appropriate safeguards such as the
International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. We
will state the mechanism that actually applies to each provider here, rather than leave this as a
general statement.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, and to request access, rectification, erasure,
restriction, portability and objection, including objection to processing based on legitimate
interests and to direct marketing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any
time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these, email us at hello@wattnest.co.uk. We will respond within one month, and
will tell you if we need to extend that period and why. We may need to check who you are before acting
on a request.

7. Complaints

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the UK supervisory authority:

We would rather you raised it with us first, but you do not have to.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the publishing system is protected by strong, unique
credentials and two-factor authentication where the platform supports it. No system is perfectly
secure; if a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will act
in accordance with our obligations under the UK GDPR.

9. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes materially we update the review date at the top and note what changed. The
version you are reading is the one in force.
